Graduated engineer F.J.G.M. (Frans) Captijn MCDm, was born in Haarlem in 1957 on June 29, in his everyday life he was, uptil november 2011, general director of the Safety region Zeeland (Veiligheidsregio Zeeland). Here he has the (end) responsibility for the regional fire brigade, medical assistance at emergencies and disasters, the joint emergency room for the fire brigades and the ambulance services as well as the multidisciplinary cooperation at comprehensive operations for disaster relief and crisis management. In general he also is responsible for the operational coordination at extensive regional incident control. In his role as general manager he also is secretary of the general and daily management board of the safety region Zeeland. With that he is the primary multidisciplinary advice - and network partner for the board on physical safety in Zeeland. Furthermore he is chairman of the Zealand safety assembly (Veiligheidsdirectie), this assembly exists of the chief of police, the regional fire chief, the director of the medical assistance for accidents and disaster (GHOR) and the coordinating secretary of the council. Periodically other partners, like the County Council, military (armed forces), Water Authority etc. In June 2005 he completed the training for Master of crisis and Disaster management.
Frans Captijn had the initiative to found E.S.I.E.A out of his own personal development and coaching route. Also his course of instruction in Personal Functional Leadership brought him in this direction. This course was given by the Academy for Leadership in Safety regions, which is part of the Dutch Institution for Physical Safety in Arnhem (NIFV). This is partly granted by the ministery of home affairs. The foundation of E.S.I.E.A. is the realization and his personal mission to put his competences and talents also in relation to the broader goal of (worldwide) assistance and humanitarian service and the stimulation of people to put their personal development into action.
Therefore from February 28, 2008 he is chairman of the E.S.I.E.A. Foundation in Middelburg and has the daily supervision.

![]() C.J. (Cees) van Liere was born in Bruinisse in January 1948. He has a long political past and background. On December 19, 2007 he took his leave as major and became Knight in the Order of Orange of Nassau (Ridder in de orde van Oranje Nassau) through commissioner of the Queen Mrs. Karla Peijs. He was major in Putte, Sluis/Aardenburg and Noord Beveland. Cees van Liere was more of a citizens attendant, a politician with deep anchors in corporate life, than a "real major". He also invests several functions in the society and Fisheries.
Cees van Liere is a member of the "Zeeuwse Commodores". A very active "think-tank" from which, in a broad, way a lot of initiatives are coming out to stimulate the economy and fasten the position of Zealand. Also through engaging the network and organizational abilities of every member in this think tank there is a fast realization from power of thought into power of deeds.
He often performed and still does, as a troubleshooter and conciliator or mediator at disturbed relations in associations, organizations and public services. His share, during the personal development of Frans Captijn, was a contribution for Frans to take the initiative of founding E.S.I.E.A. Therefore it is only natural that Cees van Liere is a valuable member of the board since the founding of E·S·I·E·A ®. Since 1th January 2011 he is secretary / treasurer of our board.

J.A.H. (Jan) Lonink was born in Markelo in May 1951. After he finished the HBS in Lochem he went to Erasmus University in Rotterdam to study Business Economics with specialty Management. Complementary he studied at the Administrative academy courses of Strategic management, Project-and Program management and Transformation management.
At the age of 20, Jan Lonink got interested, during his study of Business Economics, in politics. He was touched by the economic problems in the region he was born in (Twente). Employment seemed to be the solution and that is where he found the PvdA (Labor Party). In the early 70's, even before the cabinet of mr Den Uyl, Jan Lonink joined the party.
His first political function was accomplished in the division committee of Markelo. After that he was active in the department Twente (dissolved as a separate department) and Overijssel. He also was chairman of the parliamentary party in the Regional Authority Twente from 1976 till 1983 and he was chairman of the PvdA department Overijssel until 1987. In the same year he Second Chamber for the Labor Party. Jan Lonink was engaged in European Business, foreign commodity, information policy and the fourth memorandum regional planning. In 1994 he left the Chamber and after worked for two years at IPG-Amersfoort (strategic consultant company) became substitute major in Norg and in 1998 he was major of Sas van Gent. After the redevelopment he went back to Twente and became major of Rijssen-Holten. Two years after that there was a vacancy as major of Terneuzen. Since July 1 2003 he is major of this Zeeuwisch-Flemisch City. Adjacent to this he is also in charge as chairman of the Safety Region Zeeland and state portfolio manager fire department for the safety consideration in the Netherlands. Furthermore he lines several social outside activities among which the board membership as secretary/ treasurer of the E·S·I·E·A ® Foundation till 31th December 2010. Since 1th January 2011 he is boardmember without speciality.

W.H.A.M. (Wendy) Hanssen comes from the small town of Ubach over Worms, now called Landgraaf, in the south of Limburg. In various enterprises she worked on administrative as well as on executive and performing areas. After that she moved to Luxembourg for nine years where she developed in the commercial and recreation field. In 2001 she came back to the Netherlands to work for an ICT company as management assistant. In 2004 she moved to Zealand where she worked for two formal organizations in management support.
She works, voluntary, as Office manager at our foundation on a part time base.
